Untitled (Patches) in Flacon Design Factory
Hello! My name is Arina, and I make boxes. Here it’s all about the intimate and, at the same time, the faceless. For me, these boxes mean many things at once - they are about memory, about the feeling of enclosure, about bringing order to chaos, but first and foremost about self-identification. In these boxes, my friend Artyom and I hid ourselves (we did this exhibition together). On the outside, they all look the same. But inside each one is a memory of ours - something that we can’t stop thinking about, or something long forgotten; a feeling one of us once experienced; an encounter with the world or with the people in it; a place that is significant to us for one reason or another; questions and answers… In short, they are us. (Visitors to the exhibition were invited to give us something personal of their own, and in return take one of the boxes containing something of ours. It became an exchange of energies. Thank you to everyone who truly thought about it and placed something meaningful to them inside - I will definitely come up with something to do with these objects one day.)
